1. What’s a FTC employer of record (“EOR”)?

It’s an organization that hires, employs and pays the employees/persons on your behalf.  Without the incorporation of a Colombian entity, our EOR services allow you to hire employees in compliance with the domestic regulations.

If you are a US-based company looking to employee personnel in Colombia, you can do that through FTC without incorporating a legal entity in Colombia, following the local commercial and labour regulations, and thus, expand your operations internationally.

2. How does FTC EOR relationship work?

FTC takes over the role of legal employer of the local personnel you want to engage in Colombia.  Therefore, FTC, as EOR, will conclude labour contracts with the personnel, according to your instructions.

However, you, as client, will maintain control over the conditions and requirements of the employment relationship, including functions, tasks, assessing job performance; while FTC EOR keeps the legal responsibilities for your workforce in Colombia.

4. How is the onboarding process?

FTC will inform you and the future employee about the documentation required for the labour engagement of the employee along with the draft of the labour agreement. Once the information is collected, FTC will proceed with conclusion of the labour agreement with the employee on your behalf.

Further, FTC will assist you in relation to the onboarding process.

5. How does FTC EOR comply with the labour social security contributions and social benefits.

According to the Colombian Labour Law, employees are entitled to the following social security contributions and labour social benefits:

Monthly legal minimum wage in force in 2025 COP$1,423,500 + transportation subsidy COP$200,000 TOTAL: COP 1,623,500 (374 USD/COP$4,000 exchange rate).
* Article 114-1 of the Tax Code.

FTC shall comply with the payment of the social security contributions and social benefits, according to each type of labour agreements.

Furthermore, in case that the client desires to grant or provide extra-labour benefits, FTC will comply with them as well.

6. How is the termination and severance in Colombia?

The configuration of the termination and severance in Colombia relies on how the labour relationship is finished i.e., with just or without just cause.  Either case, FTC shall walk you through each process, following the Colombian regulations.

7. How does FTC EOR deal with IP?

In this case, IP is protected by using intellectual protection clauses into our labour contracts, securing that all IP is allocated in your hands.

8. Pricing of the FTC EOR:

Hire and manage employees in Colombia for USD$300 per employee per month.
